In batch manufacturing processes, the total process variation is generally decomposed into batch by batch variation and within-batch variation. The data provides a generic example for decomposition and estimation of each variance  component essential to the process improvement; data set taken from Ittzes, I. (2001)

This data frame contain the following variables: Compound, Batch and Measurement. For this investigation (r=8) compounds, which can be considered as batches, (m=5) samples  were taken, on which (n=3) parallel measurements were carried out.  The data were evaluated by analysis of variance (ANOVA) based on this nested model. In this model X_ijk represents the kth measurement of the dry matter  content of jth sample in the ith buttercream compound.
该数据框包含以下变量：Compound，Batch和Measurement。对于此调查（半径：8）的化合物，它可被视为批次，（m = 5时）取样，其上组（n = 3）平行进行测量。通过方差分析（ANOVA），基于此嵌套模型的数据进行了评价。在这个模型中，X_ijk表示的第k个测定的干物质含量的第j个样本中的第i个奶油化合物。
